GDE Technology Co.,Ltd makes a unique reinforcement offering with the Carbon/KEVLAR® Hybrid. This First Quality hybrid fabric combines all the advantages of carbon fiber and KEVLAR® to deliver a product that boasts a high strength-to-weight ratio and dimensional stability, in addition to a remarkable impact, abrasion, and fatigue resistance.

The colorful, eye-catching twill weave makes this hybrid an ideal choice for a surface layer, used alone or backed with another layer of reinforcement to create a maximum balance of properties. 3K carbon makes up the warp and 1500 Denier KEVLAR® fibers are dyed blue, red, orange or yellow, and woven to make up the fill.

This fabric combines the properties of 2 unique reinforcement yarns. Carbon provides high levels of stiffness and strength, whereas aramid provides huge impact/abrasion/fracture resistance. This distinct looking hybrid cloth is used in many high-performance, high-impact applications such as canoes, military ballistics and rally-car panelling.

Carbon/aramid fabric can be used in just the same way as standard carbon fibre. It is suitable for use in wet-lay, vacuum bagging and resin infusion manufacture as well as for use as a single surface layer where parts are being made to look like carbon/aramid (skinning).

When using only carbon/aramid reinforcement in a part you should expect to use several layers of this fabric in each part. None-structural components like body panels and covers will typically require 3-6 layers of a carbon fibre cloth of this weight.
