Unidirectional Basalt fiber fabric Description

Unidirectional basalt fiber fabric is a high-performance composite material made from fine basalt fibers sourced from volcanic rock. It has aligned fibers in one direction, giving it high tensile strength and stiffness along that axis. Compared to fiberglass, it has better mechanical properties like a higher strength-to-weight ratio and greater impact and fatigue resistance. It is also more cost-effective than carbon fiber.

This fabric has excellent chemical resistance, thermal stability, and is non-flammable. Its key technical properties include a tensile strength of ≥2800 MPa, a tensile modulus of 85 GPa, low elongation at break (≤3.2%), and a density of about 2.65 g/cm³.

It is widely applied as a fireproof textile and in composites for various products such as camera tripods, tennis rackets, and structural components. It is also used in heat protection and friction materials for windmill blades, ship hulls, and car bodies. Usually, it comes in widths of 1m and 1.5m, and the minimum order quantity for in-stock items is 100m.
